A small act of kindness that didn’t come back
It was after work and i was waiting on the platfform of a train station. As i walked up the stair to get to the platform i saw a train employee speaking to two girls. They seemed to be having a bit of trouble with their tickets. I was in a good mood, so i walked up to asked what was going on. The conductor informed me that the ladies didn't have any train tickets. They seemed foreign, i asked them where they were gonig and it turned out that they were gonig to the same destination as me. I took pity on them and said that i'd pay for their train rides if they pay it back to me after. They were foreign so their cards didn't work at the station.
We all had a nice ride back to Den haag where the trained stopped, we exchanged contacts so that we could work out the payment details later. Long story short. I never got paid!
I texted both of them multiple times after, first in a friendly way because we had nice conversation on the way back, but whenever i asked about the money they never reacted to it. Even when i asked explicitly. At some point they just stopped responding. I feel like i got conned. Like, this must be a scam right? Cause it made no sense why were being stopped and checked on the platform and not on the train itself.
anyways, thats 50 euros gone.
