Job scam for a digital trader position
They send you to a fake HR person and a fake "mentor" who tells you they do cross exchange arbitrage strategies and that you will need to put up your own money to get started
This one is a bit ridiculous.
On this site: https://www.eu-startups.com/job/digital-assets-trader-2/
there are multiple positions for a part time digital assets trader. When you apply for the job they respond with an automated email telling you that it has been received and they will get back to you shortly. Soon after they send you a message saying that they will like to proceed with you and send you to their HR person via whats app.
This is already a problem as once you contact that person they have your phone number. On online job posts i usually only leave my email on my cv so that not too much personal information gets given away. With this, they now have your email and phone number. The HR person on whats app said all her slots for a forma interview were full today and that she would like to continue our discussion via whats app only. This was a red flag.
Then the "HR" person tells you that they are not a prop firm and that they do not provide funding and that in the beginning all you will be doing is executing the trades that they tell you. And that you will need to execute those trades on your personal account. This was a big red flag.
Also, the conversation wasn't an interview at all. They quickly directed me to a "mentor" who was supposed to get me on-boarded. The only experience they asked for is if i had accounts on exchanges. The mentor then started to direct me to fund 100 euros to certain accounts on central and decentralized wallets so that he could tell me what trades to make and that as we traded i can start to take on larger positions. During our conversation his was camera off on the video call and it didn't even take more than 10 minutes. This is when i realized that it was a scam. But by this time, I had already given them all my personal information.
I come across job scams before, but this one was quite unique and they seemed very digitally savvy. After our call, the "mentor" told me to contact him going forward on telegram. Which made it even more sus. Since then, ive been added to multiple "crypto trading groups" and have been receiving solicitations from unknown people. I'm even considering changing my phone number because of it
